Events

The Centre of LTCC holds numerous public events dedicated to intellectual debate, forward-looking reflection on major scientific challenges and searching for business partners.

The Centre organizes conferences and workshops which provides excellent opportunity to present and discuss scientific results and are important channel for exchange of information between researchers. Over 100 people from many countries were welcomed in Kraków during 37th International Conference IMAPS-CPMT Poland 2013.

Additionally seminars favor informal intellectual exchange between the researchers and usually are free and open to the public. Speakers include one or more of the Centre’s researchers or invited guests who give a presentation on a subject related to current scientific results in various fields (e.g. printed photovoltaics) or commercialization opportunities. During rountables researchers, potential and present partners share analyses on issues related to the Centre’s research activities and discuss further development of fabricated materials and devices.

Young researchers and students are able to participate in courses where leading figures active in the area of thick-film technology, LTCC technology and other are sharing their knowledge. Some of the courses are organized in partnership with prestigious universities, e.g. Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, and representatives of industry. The lectures are meant to scientifically develop the next generation of the researchers and promote new technologies and innovative solutions. To strenghten practical skills laboratory classes are offered to students of electrical engineering, automatics and electronics. Every year at least one group of students of every education level (high schools, graduate studies, doctoral studies) are welcomed for several days or months and participate in these courses.
The Centre regularly participates in many international trade fairs, as a visitor or an exhibitor. These events are meant to stimulate new business partnerships, demonstrate latest products and results, search for new applications of developed products, examine recent market trends and opportunities and contribute to promoting the Centre's scientific results. During the 26th International Trade Fair for Electronic Components, Systems and Applications in Munich the Centre was one of the 2,737 exhibitors and has presented pH sensors, piezoelectric pressure sensor, water conductivity sensor, thermal energy harvesters and implantable neurostimulator.
